Going to Chicago (July-November 2005)

After deciding that Chicago was the place to be, we began the process of moving and saying goodbye to our Boston friends and then hello to our new hometown.

Kristin and Nate on their wedding day

Kristin and Nate's Wedding (September 2005)

In early fall Kristin and Nate got married in a beautiful outdoor sunset ceremony on a day reminiscent of summer. Bright sunlight streamed down through the tall pine trees surrounding them, while they exchanged vows. It was as if nature was providing them with a spotlight, highlighting their ceremony for all the world to see.

Brian's Birthday (July 2005)

Brian celebrated another birthday and with good friends, Andy and Rachel, and good food at a new favorite restaurant and then later with homemade birthday cake courtesy of Kelly. Who ever said you can't have your cake and eat it too?

Kelly's Bridal Shower (June 2005)

Hay Wun gave a wonderful bridal shower for Kelly with friends and family members alike. It was held during the lunch hour in downtown boston at the chic restaurant known as The Living Room. Pictures can be seen by clicking this link.

Our New Chicago Apartment (May 2005)

Kelly & Brian have a new place to call home after July 1, 2005. You can see pictures by clicking on the underlined link. After a long search, we found the place!

Kirstin & Steve meet us in Chicago

Kirstin & Steve (May 2005)

Kirstin & Steve flew into Chicago to meet us for the weekend. Their timing was perfect because it coincided with us finishing up our housing search! Their upcoming move to Germany is only weeks away. Kudos to Steve & Kirstin for returning to the country where they met and fell in love!

New Year's Day (January 2005)

Amy & Steve got married on New Year's Day in Miami!

Labor Day Cookout (September 2004)

What could be better than a BBQ over Labor Day weekend?

Lippizzaner Stallions (August 2004)

Kathy's church group friend had a family connection, so all of us had the chance to watch the famous Lippizzaner Stallions of Vienna perform. For Kelly, it was a lifelong dream come true. As a small child, Kelly had read about these famous horses, and ever since then had hoped to one day see them with her own eyes. The horses spend years training and learning elaborate movements that are then performed to classical music. It is a kind of "horse ballet."

Visits with Rose & Allen ... & baby Audrey (July 2004)

A new bundle of joy arrived last year, and my how she has grown. What a beautiful little girl.

Sunit & Anjali tied the knot (June 2004)

We saw lots of friends while traveling to Suni & Angali's wedding including Dirk & Theresa, and Sumant & Usha, Elmer & Natalya, Julian, and Lisa.

Vancouver (March 2004)

Vancouver is the most beautiful city I have ever seen, ranging from the wonders of the ever changing sea lapping at the city limits, to the majesty of the snow capped mountain peaks towering high above. The people have a sense of calm, and are said to spend 25% less time at work than the rest of us -- and who can doubt that with all the world's beauty at their fingertips?

Ski Trip 2004 (March 2004)

The lindy hoppers and swing dancers from Boston "lindy bombed" Okemo for our Annual Ski Trip! No trip would be complete without the hot tub, backrubs, pot luck style dinners, famous hot cocoa, and of course a bit of dancing too.

First Night (January 2004)

First night was an excellent way to ring in the new year. It was the warmest weather I ever recall for a New Year's Eve. It was so warm that the ice sculptures were melting away before our very eyes. While walking down the street, it was vaguely reminiscent of a night in the life of the Big Apple, certainly not your typical bean town. The sidewalks were packed with people, and from every direction you could hear kids tooting their plastic horns that were bought from the sidewalk vendors.

Kelly smiles impishly next to a snow drift after having just carved out the words Kelly's Car into a snow drift, which is actually her car covered in snow

Weekend Blizzard (December 2003)

Despite the blizzard, we walked to the T and treked through the snow all the way to Ravitte's birthday party (come on, it only happens once a year). There we were snowed in, but stayed warm by the blazing fire sipping hot cocoa and doing a little swing dancing. The next day was Brian's lab experiment at work, which happens to be situated next to a window showing a great birds eye view of Mission Hill.

Party Central

The men hosted a nice party. Kelly had a birthday with lots of delicious Kim Bop (Korean sushi) to eat with friends. Matthew turned 40 and celebrated with a surprise party at his sister's house. Saccardo pulled a tricky prank ... dressing as Dr. Brian ... most appropriate for a night of Halloween mischeif! Kate celebrated at a surprise bridal shower at her neighbor's house. Her sister brought baby Claire to visit -- the cutest baby niece you ever did see.

Years Past (Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter 2002/2001/2000)

This is where it gets good, as in blast from the past good. You will find pictures from swing dancing venues of long ago (Ken's place), various parties, sailing on the harbor, a trip to Washington, D.C., Mark & Liz's wedding, the Holiday/Birthday Slam 2001, birthday dinner at an Indian restaurant and various other dance parties, and social events.
